This site is provided for parents of children and young people who are blind and low vision. The mission and vision of the Family Training Program are detailed here.
Mission:
Provide training to parents, families, teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school staff and administrators to learn the skills of blindness and low vision (Expanded Core Curriculum) so they can support and encourage the development of their children across all areas of their lives, including in their home, school, and community.
Vision:
Provide children with educated and supportive models (family members) that understand their unique needs and nurture their development of skills across all areas, leading to greater independence throughout their lives.
